Armbar from Mount, Mount
Paul starts his class off with a drill designed to facilitate a greater proficiency and flow in the body mechanics inherent in the Armbar from Mount. The Set-Up in this case is from the scenario of an attacker who tries to brace you off of his chest when you obtain the mount position. Remember that if you need to move a particular body part, you must redistribute your base so that you no longer bear any weight onto the mat through said limb. This requires a gaining in sensitivity for balance while you maneuver around his shoulder, while capturing his extended arm. After you finish the submission, have your partner remain lying on his back with his knees up, and dismount off of the armbar so that you lie parallel with him. This will allow you to easily mount him again for the next repetition from the opposite side.
