Guillotine from Butterfly
2 Part Technique - Sitting up in Butterfly Guard as opposed to laying flat on your back in an Open Guard offers many advantages that will help you maintain a solid offensive game and increase your chances to attack or sweep. Snap your opponent's head down, forcing his throat onto the blade of your wrist. Tuck his head underneath your armpit and connect your hands together (without using your thumbs) leaving no grabbable edges, e.g. extended fingers. Switch from your butterfly hooks to half guard as soon as you have the guillotine locked but not any sooner, otherwise you risk giving up position if you miss the choke. If you're opponent grabs onto your elbow, stopping you from shelving it on top of his shoulder for the finish, use the back of your leg to scrape off his defense and clamp down on his back to help squeeze.
