2 Part Technique - If the opponent stays flat in Side Control with out trying to escape, that is a good opportunity to use the North South Choke. But, if the opponent is on his side, you no longer have the correct angle for that choke, so use the Guillotine from Side Control instead. The opponent has 3 options from this position, all in your favor. Staying in the submission will be a losing battle, bridging forward will give you the Guillotine from Butterfly, and retreating back will make him exposed the Guillotine from Mount.

I love the way Marcelo explains which way the hands should be positioned in order to put the elbow over the top of the shoulder correctly. Ive been trying to figure this out, now I know. Thanks Marcelo!
