3 Part Technique - Whether holding Seatbelt Control on your choking side or your opponent's escaping side, 1on1 Wrist Control is a crucial component of the position when trying to stack the odds in your favor with the Arm Trap from Back. When holding the Seatbelt on his Escape-Side, use your head and the 1on1 to block his shoulder from sliding onto the mat while you use your choking hand to push his top arm under your top hook. Now, your choking hand is free to dig underneath his undefended neck for the Rear Naked Choke; however, if he won't let you release the 1on1, resort to the One-Handed Short Choke: the keys of which are to anchor into his shoulder by clawing your fingers, and pulling your elbow back so that your foream cuts into his throat low, near his collarbone. He may now give up the fight to control your 1on1, but don't let him out of it now; it's an indication that the choke is working. Use the 1on1 to feed his arm into a second Arm Trap from Back for the Double Arm Trap from Back!
