2 Part Technique - Henrique instructs another self-defense lesson; this time concerning how to respond to a surprise headlock or choke from behind. Immediately alleviate the pressure away from your neck with your hands yanking his arm down as you drop your hips and widen your base. Pull your opponent's center over your hip by looking away from the throw as you bend over and sling his arm over your shoulder to the mat. Upon landing, place your shin inside his near armpit and fall back with the Nearside Armbar from Side Control. If you cannot establish a solid foundation for the Shoulder throw because he is dragging you backward, maintain control over his arm and spin around, completely facing the opposite direction, by hooking the back of his leg with yours. Finish the Leg Trip Takedown by bending at the waist while holding onto his arm and finish the fall with the same armlock submission as before.
