One-Armed Shoulder Throw to Nearside Armbar from Knee on Belly
Marcelo introduces an opportunity for attack when his opponent forestalls a grip attempt: While holding onto your opponent's sleeve in the standing position, if your opponent denies you access to their head or belt (for Koshiguruma or Ogoshi, respectively) by denying and tracking your lead-hand, opt instead for the Ippon-Seoinage or Single-(armed) Shouldering-Throw; this comprises of a crossing-hook against their controlled sleeve with your contralateral biceps while applying a back-stepping action into a backwards carry. Make sure to catch your opponent's arm in the crook of your own arm, and not placing it atop of your shoulder where they could possibly counter with a rear-choke. After throwing your opponent to the ground, retain control over your intiail sleeve grip so that you can readily transition into an arm-lock; place your shin across their midsection while swinging your other leg over their face and sitting back with their arm in extension.
