Sumigaeshi Re-Counter → Bridge vs Roll
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo teaches a movement to increase your base against Masutemiwaza & Kaeshiwaza: [I] If your opponent enters into an overhead rolling reversal to counter your takedown (e.g. Hikikomigaeshi, Sumigaeshi, Obigaeshi, et al.), splay your legs apart and effectively "float" heavily on top of your opponent's Butterfly-Hooks. Do not arch your back and thrust your hips downward; doing so may leave you vulernable to Underhooks and a subsequent reversal in an orthogonal direction. Keep your arms engaged in pulling your upper body close to the opponent's hips as your lower body flattens out planarly and your legs spreads wide apart to keep your effective weight seem too far away to lift. [II] If you are caught deeply by the Hikkikomi/Pull-down Technique and get sucked upside-down into the oppoennt's counter rolling reversal, arch your back and land on your feet; disallow your hips from making contact with the ground during the fall. Stay on top of your opponent with Kuzure-Ura-Yoko-Shiho-Gatame and quickly chase the opponents hips into Koshigatame.
