1 Part Lesson — [I] While kneeling inside the Closed Guard of your opponent, it is important to gain posture to start your pass; that is why it is also important to learn how to defend the ways in which he can break your posture down. If your opponent has made a Cross Collar Grip, dedicate both hands to his sleeve, round your back, and yank his hand off of your jacket. But, if the grip is too tight, hold onto his biceps to prevent the Cross Collar Choke as you look to control his other arm. This includes either grabbing his ribs, armpit, cuff, or sleeve and extending his arm away from your neck so you can roll your head out of danger.
