Collar & Elbow Control Guard Pull from Standing, Hook Lift from Butterfly to X Guard Entry, 2on1 Control Escape vs Side Control, Single Leg Takedown
2 Part Technique — Sometimes, you cannot establish 2on1 Control against your opponent because he is avoiding the hand-fight. If this happens, close the distance and establish Collar & Elbow Control to Pull Guard. Upon landing, use either hook to lift his leg at a an angle, letting it settle back down into your X-Guard. If you miss with the first hook, use the cross hook to catch the inside of his leg. However, if you can establish a 2on1, missing the Hook Lift isn't so bad because your opponent will not be able to secure you from the top while you ward with the control. If he tries to do so despite fending him off, answer back with a Single Leg Takedown. And lastly, If you break a nail, carry on.
