Double Wrist Control from Standing → Guard Pull from Standing → Push Kick Sweep from Butterfly
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo drys his hands and imposes his will: [I] Take advantage of the early onset of a nogi match where contact is less slippery due to perspiration by making a strong connection to the opponent; gain Double Wrist Control and either clear a path for a takedown or drop straight down, pulling Seated (Butterfly) Guard. Immediately connect with a follow-up technique to gain a positional advantage, whether it be snapping the head down into a Front Headlock, or coming up with a leg for a Single. Utilize your Butterfly Hooks to hit the opponent's feet from the inside, disrupting his base and forcing an opportunity to catch the opponent off-balance. [II] If your opponent staggers his base, taking away some of the effectiveness of the Push-Kick Sweep, enter into an Ankle Pick against the lead shank. Push on the inside of the knee and cup the heel of the lower leg, engaging a push-pull action to help topple the opponent into a more actionable position.
