Single Leg X-Guard Entry vs Hook Lift Counter, Single Leg X-Guard Sweep from 1Leg X Guard
2 Part Technique - It's not the best way, but some people make it a habit to develop a very strong game off of weak or vulnerable positions, and then making up for the shortcomings with sneaky counter-play. If your opponent lets you close the distance from Butterfly with strong grips and/or access underneath his knee for a Butterfly Hook, be prepared for the possibility of him crossing his ankles around your feet mid-lift. When this happens, grab his pants by the knee and yank his leg foot down into your Single Leg X-Guard for the sweep. If he tries to run away from your control, focus and maintain the position by pulling his leg back into your lap and squaring back up with his posture to finish the 1-Leg X-Guard Swep.
