Taking the Back vs Single Leg → Turtle to Side Control
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo captures the Seatbelt against a defensive opponent: [I] If your opponent lies flat and protects his neck and arms from attack, roll him up onto his side, preventing him from framing with his farside/top arm. If he turtles up on his knees, yank him off base to find room for the Seatbelt and prepare to roll with his escape to secure Back Control. If the opponent tries to come up onto a Single Leg, sprawl your leg free from his grips and spin around to the opposite side. [II] If you feel your opponent try to roll away back to guard after you spin around, evade his legs and yank him down flat into Side Control. If he resists your pull, use the tension to help sling you around onto his Back for the Seatbelt.
