Transition to Mount vs Butterfly, Leg Over to Back Step Pass, Back Step Half Guard to Back Control
2 Part Technique - Finding the underhook to pass your opponent's half guard may take several transitions; if you miss on the Leg Over Pass after transitioning to Mount against his guard, quickly spin around to the reverse half guard, aka Back Step Half Guard position. As you turn around, look to secure the needed underhook to stabilize the top position. If he beats you to it and secures his own underhook, so deeply that you cannot readily pummel for it back, dig your other arm under his armpit instead. Once inside, forcefully close the space, elevating his elbow above his shoulder by gripping high onto his back. Now you have the stability to kick your leg free with the Back Step Pass, and run to North South for the pin. If you cannot free your leg, use your grip on his back to begin pulling him onto his side, exposing his back off the mat. If he doesn't release and turn onto his knees, jump over his hip and roll him onto your lap with Seatbelt Control to take his back.
