In this technique, Marcelo enters into Xguard from halfguard.

Marcelo sets up the xguard by sweeping, secures xguard, then redirects the opponent to complete the sweep.

Marcelo is in the opponents open guard. He drives in to gain over/under control, then pressures to halfguard using a Knee Outside Pass

Marcelo hand fights, then the opponent pulls xguard. Marcelo counters by sitting over. Marcelo secures the guillotine to Over/Under seat belt control then obtains the rear naked choke.

The opponents momentum is turned against him in this sweep. Marcelo then quickly mounts, the opponent turns away, so Marcelo steps and sits across the body to obtain Seatbelt control.

Marcelo attempts a sweep, but the opponent counters by moving to the otherside. Marcelo blocks the guard pass with his knees, then rotates on the bottom, using his legs to capture the opponents arm, landing in the crucifix position.

Marcelo has mount and the opponent turns to far. Marcelo attempts and rear naked choke, but secures the back instead.

Marcelo takes the back from mount. The opponent turns slightly and Marcelo secures the head. He lifts and scoots under to get the back.
