In this technique, Marcelo enters into Xguard from halfguard.

The opponent gives his back then Marcelo secures the Over/Under seatbelt control. The opponent leaves his arm open, so Marcelo obtains the crucifix position. He flattens the opponent out and locks in the RNC.

Marcelo slides his knee through the middle to pass, the opponent turns just for a split second, so Marcelo capitalizes on the mistake by obtaining the seatbelt and putting hooks in.

Marcelo attempts a sweep, but the opponent counters by moving to the otherside. Marcelo blocks the guard pass with his knees, then rotates on the bottom, using his legs to capture the opponents arm, landing in the crucifix position.

Marcelo has an underhook and head control. Hes lifts and sweep, while blocking the opponents arm from posting with the underhook.

Marcelo is slipping off in position, but retains the Over/Under Seatbelt control. He then readjusts to a more favored position. It's important to hold the Over/Under Seatbelt control to secure a strong back control.
