Switching Knee on Belly
Paul guides his students through a basic but important drill regarding proper top control mobility. In this scenario, the bottom partner holds his heels close to his butt so that his knees are raised and pose a potential threat to the top player, i.e. he simulates the danger of capture back into guard. Using minimal elevation, replace your opposite shin across your opponent's belly and avoid letting your feet dangle low. Alternate sides until an economy of motion is understood.
