2 Part Technique - If an adversary has you bent over in a headlock, and he releases his grip, realize that he more than likely did so to deliver a strike to your face. Immediately block his arm with 1on1 wrist control, and secure his arm to his side with your other hand. Remove yourself from the headlock by grabbing onto his wrist, posturing up, stepping back, and ducking under his arm for a Chicken Wing. Subdue your attacker by tripping him back, and forcing compliance with the shoulderlock, or trapping the wing with your knee for the Rear Naked Choke. If he tries to throw you to the ground with the headlock, cut your arm through his legs and go with his force, rolling him over your body. If he's still holding onto the Headlock from Side Control, step over into mount, post if he tries to roll you, brace against his face, and take the Armbar from Mount.
