Double Leg Takedown, Guillotine Escape vs Closed Guard
2 Part Technique - Escaping the Guillotine Choke from inside your opponent's Closed Guard comprises of two essential components: firstly, evading the immediate danger of submission by maneuvering into a safe position, and secondly, patiently removing the threat by methodically dismantling his grip. If he attacks with an Arm-In Guillotine, you will be able to dedicate both of your hands to disarming the choke; approach the grip-breaking process based on the specific configuration in which his hands are bound. If he tries to submit you with the better variant of the Guillotine, i.e. without an arm involved in the equation, you will have to react with greater urgency to move into safety. Land on top from the Double Leg Takedown while dealing with the choke by swinging your arm over the top of his non-choking arm before he has a chance to shelf his elbow on your shoulder and finalize the attack. In either scenario, arm-in or arm-out, diminish your opponent's ability to apply finishing pressure by driving your weight onto his chest with your shoulder and elevating your hips by solely posting on your toes.
