Cross-Arm & Belt-Control Reverse Hook-Sweep from Butterfly-Guard
Marcelo demonstrates his tried-and-true Reverse Hook-Sweep from Butterfly-Guard: Track your opponent's hands with your own as you scoot forward to disallow them from accessing grips onto your legs for passing. Seize control over both of your opponent's wrists and make a transfer onto their cross-side sleeve; capture a Pistol-Grip (a.k.a Joystick) to protect your fingers and tuck their hand underneath your grip to prevent counter-gripping. Latch onto their elbow with your free hand for 2on1-Control until you have the chance to jump from their elbow to the back-side of their belt. Lean your head inside while kicking your far-leg through the middle as you load your opponent's weight onto your Butterfly-Hook. Flip your opponent towards the outside in manner that is in the reverse direction from the trajectory of a traditional Hook-Sweep (e.g. Sumigaeshi, Obitorigaeshi, Hikkikomigaeshi, Tagurimekuri, Teppogaeshi, Khabarelli, et al.) and finish on top with control still over your opponent's cross-side sleeve.
