Arm Trap from Back, Rear Naked Choke
Marcelo guides his students through a finishing sequence with an Arm-Trap from Back-Control: Once your forearm is across your opponent's throat, they will likely try and defend by latching onto your choking-arm; use your choking-hand as a claw and anchor your fingers onto your opponent's shoulder-blade while using your free-palm to scrape off their defending hands. Don't use your fingers to peel away your opponent's defensive-grips; rather, place the edge of your hand against the side of their hand press firmly until they begin to lose contact. The moment your choking-arm is unencumbered, clasp your hands together into a Gable-Grip for a Short-Choke style finish, or reach your biceps and shoot your hand behind their head for the traditional Fig.-4 locking of the Mata-Leão (a.k.a. Rear-Naked Choke/Strangle, Hadakajime, Lateral Vascular Neck Restraint, et al.).
