2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo pursues the Back-Pack Position: If you are able to cross your opponent's arm or hit an Arm-Drag from Seated/Butterfly Guard, you will have the opportunity to take your opponent's back and fasten the Seat-Belt while setting your hooks for Back-Mount. Don't rely on your opponent to help pick you up off the mat and yank you up into the position; swing your free leg for momentum, pull yourself up and place your feet on the ground for base to help you make it to the Back. Work your near-side hook inside first before trying to set your farther leg. [04:54] Prepare yourself to rebound off the mat if your opponent tries to counter you Back-Take with a Shoulder-Throw (Seoi-Otoshi/Nage, et al.); catch yourself from falling off by releasing your near-side hook and posting with both of your feet on the mat. Immediately, look to jump back onto your opponent's Back before they can pummel for an Under-Hook and avoid the position.
