Over Under Pass vs Half Guard
1 Part Lesson -- Paul explains how Marcelo prefers to pass his opponent's Half Guard while wearing the gi. The idea is avoid raising your hips into the air and giving your opponent a chance to roll you from the top. Spread your weight out low and pin your opponent's bottom knee to the mat. Drive your chest across the near-side triceps while keeping your head tight against the side of your opponent's head. Pull the elbow up to make room for your free knee to slide up high enough for the sole of your foot to press squarely against the opponent's bottom knee. Press until your knee slips above the opponent's knee-line, allowing you to cut your hip down to the mat and stabilize the top position for the pass.
