2 Part Lesson — Marcelo passes the Standing Closed Guard: [I] Place your hands on your opponent's hips and press him down towards the ground; keep them low enough so that you can prevent them from falling back to their feet and wrestling. As soon as the guard opens, raise your knee up and over the same-side leg and force any pass. [II] If your opponent wriggles their body while hanging on to keep you off-balance, use your arm to hold an Underhook or Head Control. However, don't allow the opponent to extend your arm away from your body into potential danger. Keep your elbow close while you continue to push on the opponent's knee for the Closed Guard Break.
