Elbow Push Escape Series
3 Part Lesson — Marcelo shares a series of Side Control Escapes: [I] If your opponent defends your Elbow Push Escape by grabbing onto your legs or pants, splay your feet apart and swing your legs to the outside until his grip breaks; you may end up on top, catch him in an Armbar (Wakigatame), or the Crucifix with Back Control. [II] If your opponent puts a lot of his weight onto your legs by lifting his hips high, attempt to throw them across your body to the opposite side with a Modified "Hip Toss", prepare to run out and escape from bottom if he releases control to post against the reversal. [III] If your opponent tries to lift your legs into the air for Reverse Side Control, kick over your shoulder and generate momentum for a Backwards Roll to land on top.
