3 Part Lesson — Marcelo teaches useful variations of the Knee-Cut/Cross/Slide/Slice Pass: [I] Push your opponent's back flat on the mat with 2on1 Control or gain the 2on1 after you push his Butterfly Guard. Drive your knee inside and press his leg down with your knee to pass his guard. [II] Grip the 2on1 with your hands open toward the opponent's head to increase you chance of control if he breaks your grip. If you encounter resistance while trying to clean up his knee, remove your leg laterally and scramble to the top position for the pass. [III] Utilize your weight behind your knee to help prevent the opponent from keep your leg isolated on the inside. Take whatever control you can find after landing to establish the top position.
