"Head & Arm Control" is a major point of dominance that can be used to control Full Mount, Side Mount, and Back Mount. When passing the Half Guard with an Underhook & Crossface, you must keep the level of your hips with that of your shoulders; raising the hips too high may result in reversal or recovery for your opponent. If your opponent's arm is pinned against his head, you are free to transition into the Mount because your elbow can be used as a post. If you don't have his arm dominated, you should opt to pass directly into Side Control where the risk of getting flipped is lower. Marcelo sets the timer for six 1-minute rounds, where partners alternate top and bottom in the Half Guard position with Underhook & Head Control. The top player must pass to the Mount or Side Control while the bottom player must either reverse with a Sweep from Half Guard, or recover back a Full Guard (Closed, Butterfly, Feet-On-Hips, etc).
