Collar Choke from Side Control → Collar Choke Cradle from Back
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo teaches two variations of the Okuri-Erijime or Bow-N-Arrow Choke: [I] If your opponent throws out your hooks and tries to escape from your choking grip, maintain pressure on his nape with your shoulder and find a way back to your knees. If he doesn't allow you to maintain 1on1 Wrist Control, hold down his arm and shoulder and apply the Collar Choke directly from Side Control with chest-on-chest pressure. Be sure to keep your wrist locked straight with your forearm and fist aligned to prevent injuring your own hand during the squeeze [II] If you don't have time to mount over and catch the leg for the traditional Bow-N-Arrow finish or if you cannot hold down his side from turning over, scoop up his leg and make a grip anywhere except for the choking lapel.
