2 Part Lesson — Marcelo gets past a loose De-La-Riva Hook: [I] If your opponent opts for DLR Guard with Collar & Sleeve Control (as opposed to the traditional ankle grip), take advantage of his lowered defenses and concentrate on passing this leg; point your knee outside to detach the hook from your knee and make grips on his stomach and opposite knee. If he keeps fishing for the De-La-Riva Hook, wherein his leg is low, Windshield Wipe both feet over top of his knee, driving weight onto the leg and finish in Side Control. [II] If his leg is too high to spin over top, cut both knees across his thigh from the inside to pass.
