Counter vs Lock Down, Under Hook and Head Control

2 Part Technique - It can be easy to secure Half Guard, yet difficult to pass the position if the opponent uses a Lock Down Half Guard. Immediately use the Under Hook and Head Control to prevent him from going underneath you for the sweep. Always pull your heal upwards to release the pressure from the Lock Down. Switch your leg away from which ever side the opponent's legs are locked together and bring your foot close to point your knee upwards.

something about that lockdown doesnt look right. my audio isnt so great so i cant hear if he is addressing the figure 4 being on the outside of the lockdown, when ive always figure 4'd to the inside (as taught by 10thplanet).

Great info, thanks.  This site is dramatically improving my half guard passes and glad to see the lockdown being addressed.
