Hand-Fighting → Avoid Bad Drilling Habits → Being a Good Partner
1 Part Drill — Marcelo insists on practicing your warm-up exercises and drills with real, live intensity; you shouldn't instill bad training habits by employing short-cuts, especially when simulating real situations: e.g. When breaking your opponent's grips during drills, your opponent shouldn't make a "fake" grip. Talk with your partner and figure out what level of strength applied in his grip will help you progress to breaking grips in an actual match. Also, if sprawling or shooting, if you don't bother hand-fighting first before making a move, you're giving your training partner a false sense of timing.
