4 Part Lesson — Paul explains the dangers in raking the foot in ½ Guard a la Lucas Leite: [I] Make sure to orient your knee correctly when applying the Back Step Pass to avoid injury to your knee. [II] While in Reverse Half, if you can pummel for a Nearside Underhook, you can hop back over to the other side to land in a Over/Under Pass or Knee Slide with a now, Farside Underhook. [III] If you feel your leg cranked despite the fact that you have an underhook, pick your hips up and cross your knee over to ¾ Mount and got to Mount with a Crossface or cut back to the original Knee Slide Pass. [IV] If your knee is compromised in an awkward position, make sure to keep your free leg posted; staying on your knee or worse yet, your hip, can amplify the torque generated by the opponent.
