2 Part Lesson — Marcelo shares two ways to ensure tight Back Control when looking for the Gi Choke: [I] When your opponent escapes your hooks as you pull him back with the Seatbelt and drive in with your knee, look to secure a deep grip on his collar for the choke. Keep your arm, shoulder, and head, wrapped tightly around his neck while you underhook his arm and apply a half-nelson behind his head for the Katahajime. [II] If your opponent begins escaping to the opposite side, the side easier for his escape, focus on keeping your head tight against his temple to prevent him from placing his back on the mat and belly-down to reset the position.
