2 Part Technique — Marcelo introduces to his class two chokes that are not a normal part of his game, however, they may prove useful if the following circumstances are capitalized: if your opponent is hiding his arms well while held in Side Control, feed his farside skirt-tail/lapel to your cross-facing hand for better control, and then step over his face, cutting off the otherside of his neck for the Ashi-Gatame-Jime. If he defends by hiding his head, cross his farside arm over his face and immobilize it there with your own head. Transition across his body to the opposite side where you can implement the Kata-Gatame aka Head & Arm Triangle Choke.

drom side mount, does it matter which hand is on top while gable gripping? Pablo does is one way, and marcelo switches it up. Thanks.

Awesome idea to use the skirt of the gi for additional control and leverage to set up the arm triangle.
