Collar and Elbow Control vs Butterfly, Standing Step Pass vs Butterfly, Back Step Pass vs Half Guard
2 Part Technique - Don't let someone taller than you grab your jacket from over your shoulders; he can shake you like a carpet. Even though we can't always rely on physical attributes to define the success of our personal game, we can use this grip against the Seated Guard or Butterfly Guard from Standing. Use this Collar Grip along with control over his elbow to tug him forward and escape your foot to the outside for the Standing Step Pass. If you can't control his arm by his elbow, switch passing directions and back step into Reverse Half Guard by pulling his collar to the mat. After landing, pummel for an underhook and kick your trapt leg free out from his guard.
