2 Part Technique - If you have any intention of breaking out of your opponent's Closed Guard, you're going to have to stand up. When you do, you have to be ready to balance yourself against his sweep attacks. After popping up to your feet with Double Collar Control, lean in with your lead knee if he happens to underhook your ankle. If he tries to underhook it with his cross arm, catch his wrist behind his back and Knee Slide after you open his guard. He may try to catch you in Half Guard while you hold onto the Cross Arm Trap; simply pull him onto his side by his gi, and free your knee with the Over Under Pass to Side Control.
