Standing Armlock vs Back Grip
2 Part Technique - If you encounter a self-defense scenario in which an adversary grabs hold of your shoulder from behind and begins shoving you around, drop into proper base by posting your foot against the direction of his push and wrap your arm around his elbow, locking him into a standing submission. Align your forearm against his elbow and raise your grip skyward against the bend of his arm to apply the finishing pressure. If he begins to straighten out his arm to defend the shoulderlock, turn your body away from him as you bring your leg across his hip to prevent him from escaping the straight armbar.
