Back Control Recovery → Bow and Arrow Choke from Back → Choke from Side Control
3 Part Lesson — Marcelo uses the collar to choke: [I] If your opponent tosses off your Back Hooks while you are fighting to make grips for the Bow-N-Arrow Choke, you must recover your base and reset your legs into the finishing position. If he tries to turn away, run your legs north and sit him up so you can swing your leg across his stomach. If he slithers away, get up on one knee at a time before mounting over for the choke. [II] If your opponent is strong and begins peeling off your arm away from his neck, put him flat on his back and cover his arm with your chest to help kill his pulling power. Once firmly on top, make a grip on his other arm to help anchor yourself as you pull the collar for the tap. [III] Try to keep your fist aligned with your forearm, forgoing a bend in the wrist. If you sense pain, remind yourself that your opponent also feels the pressure in his neck and will soon submit.
