2 Part Lesson — Marcelo demos two variations of the Back Step Pass utilizing the Gi: [I] Use a Collar Grip to knock your opponent flat and to raise your hips up off the mat by posting on it; when your opponent opens up his far elbow, pummel for the Reverse Underhook and fall into his Reverse Half. Try to maintain a grip on his far knee to control his movement and help stabilize your posture before and after landing. Use your free leg to kick yourself free; run to North/South to finish the pass. [II] If your opponent doesn't open his elbow for the Reverse Underhook, switch your grip to his Cross Collar and push into his armpit; use the post to raise your free leg up to kick and step out of his Reverse Half/Quarter Guard. Establish the top position with Knee-On-Belly before finding a place to land in Side Control.
